Fashion design, throughout history has turned to previous eras for inspiration. Vintage clothing retains and increases in value due to the fact that it is genuinely from a past era. In addition, authentic garments are made one at a time, with enough attention to detail to create an item that has long lasting value. Garments closely resembling original vintage (retro or antique) clothing are mass-produced, for the most part, in China. An example of this is the simple slip dresses that emerged in the early 1990s, a style that resembles a 1930's design, but upon examination will show that it only superficially resembles the real thing. These styles are generally referred to as "vintage style", "vintage inspired" or "vintage reproductions". They serve as a convenient alternative to those who admire an old style but prefer a modern interpretation. Sellers claim consumer advantage in that, unlike the original garments, they are usually available in a range of sizes and perhaps, colours and/or fabrics, and can be sold much cheaper.
as a designer ,we should know different styles about the clothes ,for example , the classical and vintage style ,when you don't have any inspired ,you can look at them ,maybe it can helps you a lot ...

look at this girls clothes ,it looks classical ,like some years ago Europe style .the top use the green and gold ,the short Skirt is also use the shining gold and a little black design,and the hair style and the face all Addition Classical atmosphere.
look at this dress ,what's your feeling ?it's remind me Marilyn Monroe,sexy and beautiful .the black dress with the white dots .this design is make the girls looks young ,the hair color the skin and the dots in the dress are suit together ,also the nice make up ,the red Lipstick...
l like this girls dress ,she is one chinese actress ,also look at her hairstyle and the gold Earrings ,the clothes ,handbag ,necklace all same colors ,the Lipstick and the nail all red ,the dress us the dark green and the gold plant on it ,the top use the Hollow,it makes the girl looks more sexy and noble ...
have you ever see this ,it's chinese style .the dress is use the dragon and gold ,it has the chinese old Pattern on ,it's like the Thousands of years ago the kings clothes ,in that time just the kings famaily can use this color and design.it shows the Identity and status.i think this is one good Classical and vintage style example ..how about you? .what do you think ?
